HOME VISITS - 264051
Home visits are for patients who are HOUSEBOUND OR TOO ILL
to come to the surgery. Requests for house calls should be made as early
as possible after 8.15am and before 10.00am. This allows the doctors to
plan their working day and ensure prompt visiting. The first doctor starts
house visits at 8.30am. If you are in doubt about the need for a home
visit please ask to speak to one of the doctors who will be able to advise
you further. Please remember, facilities for examination are better at
the surgery.
The receptionist will ask you for details of your illness. Please supply
her with as much detail as possible as this enables the doctors to determine
the priority and timing of visits. If the patient has a temperature or
a rash, coming to the surgery will do them and others no harm.
OUT OF HOURS
This practice is a member of Ayrshire Doctors On Call (ADOC) which
provides out-of-hours cover for our patients. This service is for urgent
problems which genuinely cannot wait until the next routine surgery to
be seen. It is staffed by GPs working in Ayrshire. Out-of-hours calls
for advice or to see a doctor, whether at home or at the treatment centre
at Ayr Hospital, are dealt with by NHS 24. A specially trained nurse is
available to give advice or to pass you on to the doctor if necessary.
Remember, house visits are for the housebound and those too ill to attend
the centre.
